Interstate 89 blocked in two places due to icy conditions

State Police are reporting that the Interstate is back open and traffic is moving in the two places it had been shut down due to icy conditions, as of 9:35 a.m.

From the Vermont State Police:

The Northbound lane of Interstate 89 is currently blocked at about mile 80 in Williston due to traffic that is unable to get up the “French Hill” area due to extremely icy conditions.

The southbound lanes area also severely backed up and impassable at about mile 95 in Colchester (Just north of exit 16)

The State Police reminds motorists to drive slowly, leave plenty of extra room between vehicles and give yourself extra time to reach your destinations.
