Ludlow Rotary collecting items for Sandy relief

LUDLOW — The Ludlow Rotary is collecting items for individuals affected by Hurricane Sandy now until next week.
New York, Connecticut and New Jersey were hit hard by the storm. The Rotary said many residents vacation and have second homes in the Okemo Valley area and they are reaching out to help.
The Rotary is requesting the following items for donation: clothing, underwear, socks, blankets, cleaning supplies, nonelectric toys for kids, batteries (all sizes), nonperishable food, sweat pants, sweatshirts, sweaters, fleece items, grooming supplies, towels and bed linens.
Donations will be accepted until Nov. 23 at the following Ludlow locations: Benson’s Chevrolet, Fletcher Memorial Library and Ludlow Insurance Agency.
To send a check, please make it payable to Ludlow Area Rotary Charitable Fund before Nov. 23. The address is P.O. Box 216 Ludlow, VT 05149-0216.

LES/BRHS Students Host ‘Opus 24 Concert’, May 2

From Black River Today:

Ludlow Elementary School and Black River High School Music Department will host the Spring Opus Concert at the Ludlow Town Hall on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6:30 pm. The Opus 24 Concert is a bi-annual event sponsored by VT MIDI Project that features Vermont student’s music compositions being played live by members of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.  The Opus Concerts are held in a variety of venues around the state and this is the first time that Ludlow will host the event in our beautifully renovated Ludlow Town Hall.
