Police reported more than 50 incidents; this map has all vandalism incidents reported to police in Rutland between 6 a.m. on Jan. 23 to 5 a.m. on Jan. 24. All the incidents may not be related to the same perpetrator(s).
50 locations X $200 (a likely minimum for damages, not including businesses)=$10K, divided between 3 ‘perpetrators’ = roughly $4,000+ /person in restitution.
Hope they have decent paying jobs, since given their ages, they are likely just out of High School…. at minimum wage, you don’t even make $1000/month working full-time, and who wants to hire a convicted felon? Hard Lesson. No sympathy. If a ‘slap’ on the wrist is all that transpires…. if I were a Rutland taxpayer, I would be ballistic.
